These simple checks take a couple of minutes and could save you a call-out — or help our engineer diagnose the fault faster if you do book a repair.
Check The Clock Is Set Correctly
Like many built-in ovens, a lot of range cookers won't heat if the clock or timer has been left in a delay-cook setting — reset the clock and try again.
Check Nothing Has Tripped
If the whole unit or one zone has no power, check your consumer unit for a tripped breaker before assuming the appliance itself has failed.
Check Gas Ignition / Element Connections
On a dead hob ring, check gas models for a clean, unobstructed ignition point, or on electric models check the ring is seated correctly in its connector.
Check The Door Seal & Hinges
A door that isn't sealing properly, or has a worn hinge, can cause uneven cooking and heat loss — check for visible wear or debris trapped in the seal.
